2024 Summit Scheduleabout

Our time in Laguna is designed to share new ideas, connect with old and new friends, and focus on the future. We’ve built the schedule to illuminate insights and inspire opportunities through organic and provocative conversations. Big Discussions feature leaders who are pioneering solutions at health care’s largest organizations, spurring disruptive innovations, and setting policy to advance health goals for the nation. Intimate discussions and activities have a way of opening the mind and enabling ideas and insights to flow. Our goal is for you to leave these discussions better equipped to effect real strategic change in your organization and beyond. A sneak peek of the 2024 Summit main stage discussions include:

  • Health Care in the Hot Seat: Fireside Chat with Mark Cuban
  • The New Strategic Landscape: Navigating Heightened Competition, Consolidation, and the Quest for Consumer Loyalty
  • ONC Turns 20: Reflecting on the Past and Prioritizing the Future of Health IT
  • The Capital Conundrum: Deciphering Volatile Markets and the Impact on Innovators and Incumbents
  • AI-Powered Discovery: Parsing Hype from Reality in Accelerating Breakthrough Clinical Innovation
  • The Resilient CEO: Bridging the Glass Cliff and Achieving Executive Sustainability
  • Spotlight on Specialty Care: New Competitors, Power Brokers, and Demands for Value
  • Our Leadership Moment: The Call for CEO Courage Amid Turbulent Times
  • We encourage you to take advantage of this time away from your everyday responsibilities to connect – and reconnect – with other future-minded leaders across the health care industry. We have designed the Summit to help attendees zoom out and discuss major strategic issues on the horizon. We look forward to seeing you in Laguna!

Health Care in the Hot Seat: Fireside Chat with Mark Cuban

We are delighted to welcome Mark Cuban, a trailblazer and entrepreneur. Join us for a fireside chat Wednesday afternoon that promises to spark ideas, challenge norms, and embody the candidness that defines Summit. Don’t miss the chance to secure your front-row seat to hear how the iconic co-founder of Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company is disrupting the status quo, unlocking value, and reshaping the future of health care.

ONC Turns 20: Reflecting on the Past and Prioritizing the Future of Health IT

The 2024 Summit will feature a special “reunion” of the esteemed leaders of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) in celebration of the 20th anniversary of its formation to spotlight the monumental strides we’ve made in health care and chart the course of technological advancement. We are excited to welcome David Blumenthal, MD, David Brailer, MD, PhD, Karen DeSalvo, MD, Robert Kolodner, MD, Farzad Mostashari, MD, Donald Rucker, MD, Micky Tripathi, PhD, and Vindell Washington, MD. This will be an opportune occasion to reflect on the accomplishments but more importantly to frame the agenda moving forward amid so much AI-based innovation.

The 2024 Summit will also feature the Confab for Advancing Women in Leadership‘s Big Discussion on the main stage Wednesday morning, the fireside chat with Mark Cuban on Wednesday afternoon, and the ONC celebration on Thursday afternoon—and extending into the evening with cocktails, dinner, and entertainment.

Fellowshipcommunity

For leaders of companies deeply involved in the transformation of health care, having a curated community of CEOs and C-suites to share insights, learn new approaches, and focus on the future is invaluable. Our Fellowship program is an opportunity to drive cross-industry impact while connecting with the industry’s top leaders at multiple convenings throughout the year.

The Fellowship experience at Summit is an opportunity to collaborate with cross-industry leaders and dig deeper into topics that span across our Forum Roundtables. We want to take advantage of our time in Laguna to look at common themes that are rising out of the Roundtable meetings that are top of mind for cross-industry executives.

As part of the Fellowship experience at Summit, Fellows will enjoy invitation-only luncheons and breakout discussions, the Confab Get Real breakouts on Wednesday afternoon, and a series of private breakout discussions across the day on Thursday.

To join the invitation-only networking events and discussions or learn more about Fellowship, contact Marina Turner at MarinaT@healthevolution.com.

Attire

  • The Summit is intended to be a comfortable and casual retreat, so leave your suits and ties at home! Think “retreat chic” when packing your bags: khaki, linen, jersey, casual-collared shirts and blouses. Events are held throughout the daytime and evening, both indoors and out, so plan accordingly as oceanside events may get chilly.
